My name is Terry Cockburn. I am a wife, mother, yoga instructor, personal trainer, group fitness instructor, lover of healthy living and motivator of many.

Fitness has always been a part of my life. Being an avid sports lover, I first became involved in organized sports at age 9, and continued that passion throughout my childhood, teens, twenties and thirties, playing soccer, softball, running road races and tennis.

I became a gym rat at the age of 20, and after being a faithful member of a great gym in Brunswick, Maine, was given the opportunity to teach fitness classes and indoor cycling.

Around my mid-twenties, I was introduced to yoga, and enjoyed incorporating Bryan Kest's Power Yoga VHS tapes into my routine.

After the birth of my two boys in 2002 and 2003, the gym took a back burner and I threw myself into running. Lots of miles on the road and time on my yoga mat was how I relieved my stress. I eventually hung up my Asics and fell into a deeper yoga practice, letting yoga be my only form of exercise. It did amazing things for me mentally and physically, and I couldn't get enough. In 2006 I became certified to teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga after attending a teacher training with Stephanie Keach of the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, North Carolina. It was one of the best experiences of my life. So great, I actually went back the following year to complete the same training a second time.

The athlete in me discovered I needed a little more than just yoga (it's all about balance!), and found myself gravitating toward the gym and running and all things competitive. In 2007, I complimented my yoga certification with a personal training certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

I am constantly attending workshops and classes, reading books and articles and staying current with the latest information in the fitness world. This is my passion and my life!
